Anybody know where I can find a Lactation Consultant?

Having trouble with my newborn son and would like some professional help.I know the basics, since I breastfed my first for over a year, but each child is now learning the very differant! Does anyone know where I can have a legitimate website or when I try looking for a place in my area? Thanks if anyone knows. Call / Google UTMB they have millions of them. Call the hospital where you had your son. Most hospitals have a lactation consultant on staff to new mothers. Contact the hospital where your child was born, they should be on call and have been free. If that fails, find google La Leche League and licensed counselors in your area. Good luck and congratulations to Pippin IBCLC http://www.ilca.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3337 seem to know much about it. Try your local hospital or pediatrician for a referral, or try this page. http://americas.iblce.org/find-an-ibclc EDIT: Mom * blushes * JD - but I'm not alone educator IBCLC .I would suggest to call the Le Leche League, I am sure that they have information that you can look at a local establishment near you. They can send a consultant to your home that will work with you and your son. I did this after my first child, and they were good. Another suggestion is to contact the hospital where you delivered. Many times they are in contact with consultants. To do this you must pay yourself. I know how frustrating it can be a nurse. It was very difficult for me. Meeting with a counselor helped me a lot. Hope this helps! Try http://www.breastfeeding.com. I could do a search for LCS in the middle area of the site. Also called D & D of the hospital he was born and ask who they use. Good luck! You can contact the hospital you give birth. Contact your local La Leche League. If you qualify, WIC provides free LC is to help you. Most hospitals have a lactation consultant on staff. But I must say that I absolutely hated one in the hospital where my daughter! They annoyed me was everything I did wrong, she made me nervousit are not consistent. I contacted my local WIC office at the WIC office has a lactation consultant on staff to help you even if you are not qualified to participate in WIC. Find your local office here http://www.fns.usda.gov/wic/contacts/statealpha.htm. Their staff is very knowledgeable and very easy to go! I work with health insurance. call your insurance comp and ask for a lacataion specialist in your area and they will be a few others. u can also go to the insurance market and see that most hospitals employ a lactation consultant. Offered at the hospital you gave birth in a conversation and find out. Otherwise, see La Leche League. You can have someone in your area also. La Leche League helps a great source of breastfeeding.
